Account Manager (consumer)

We are seeking to recruit an ambitious consumer Account Manager who’s organised, influential and smart.  Someone who wants to play a pivotal role in growing an all–Ireland agency and who will enjoy developing the accounts of a wide range of clients. If this is you, please get in touch as we are seeking an exceptional PR Manager to join our team in Belfast where we do award winning work for global, national and local brands including National Trust, Electric Ireland, Royal Caribbean International, and Progressive Building Society.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Account Manager at AIKEN, you will lead teams and proactively manage individual client accounts to the highest standard. You should be capable and confident with a strategic mind–set demonstrating thorough understanding of media and communication skills. You will work with the consumer team to plan and carry out the execution of strategies and activities, ensuring that campaign objectives are being achieved, and that accounts are well organised.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on major accounts and manage client activities including research, planning, implementation and evaluation of campaigns, and paying careful attention to budgets, resources, deadlines and client records

  • Act as a respected and trusted advisor to clients

  • Combine creativity with knowledge of the media to recognise media angles and generate positive news coverage, profile pieces and features across a broad media spectrum

  • Know the changing media landscape and ensure your team is consistently reviewing and developing its base of contacts – media, influencers and stakeholders

  • Monitoring news agenda and updating clients on emerging news where relevant

  • Researching and writing client communication strategies

  • Researching and writing press releases, copy for brochures, leaflets, web copy and social content

  • Leading client meetings and producing contact reports

  • Maintaining accurate records and files of all activities including time sheets

  • Maintaining agreed client activity and budgets

  • Identifying, developing and supporting new business opportunities, including proposal writing.

 

Key requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience in a PR role (In house or agency experience preferable)

  • Be able to demonstrate past PR success

  • Established experience with media relations skills, pitching news to national, broadcast and online outlets

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Open communicator, happy working in a flexible team format

  • Used to operating in a fast–paced environment

  • Social media proficiency  – complete understanding of media channels and their use

Salary 

Dependent on experience, competitive

Account Manager (Corporate & Public Affairs)  

We are seeking to recruit an ambitious corporate & public affairs Account Manager who’s organised, influential and smart.  Someone who wants to play a pivotal role in growing an all–Ireland agency and who will enjoy developing the accounts of a wide range of clients. If this is you, please get in touch as we are seeking an exceptional PR Manager to join our team in Belfast where we do award winning work for global, national and local companies including McDonald’s, Diageo, Ulster GAA (Casement Park Project), the Lagan Group and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for someone who is highly experienced in public affairs and stakeholder relations with a strong understanding of the region’s political and economic environment.  A person who is very competent in media relations and is experienced in account management for a range of different clients and campaigns. We also need you to have extensive experience of dealing with a wide stakeholder network and ideally have experience of working both within the private and public sectors. Based in our Belfast office, we want someone who can hit the ground running to help our clients to communicate with everyone from political and business audiences, to their consumers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Help to devise and deliver proactive and reactive media engagement strategies and campaigns

  • Draft a range of materials, such as press releases, opinion articles and online copy

  • Support and, where necessary, coordinate and manage media sell–ins

  • Organise and coordinate events, press conferences, photo calls, and/or media contact programmes

  • Respond quickly and accurately to client requests

  • Support new business proposals and pitches

Key requirements

  • Current experience in corporate or public affairs is essential

  • Knowledge and insights on current affairs and political issues

  • Ability to develop stakeholder focused campaigns to influence decision makers

  • Established experience with media relations skills, pitching news to national, broadcast and online outlets

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Open communicator, happy working in a flexible team format

  • Used to operating in a fast–paced environment

  • Social media proficiency – complete understanding of media channels and their use

  • Experienced in drafting press releases/articles/blogs

  • Developing news, understand how to draft research questions and find a news angle within the results
