Progressive Building Society has announced that it will launch Northern Ireland’s inaugural Savings Week from 10th – 15th September 2108 to help promote a savings culture across local communities.
A number of initiatives to inform, help and educate people on the benefits of saving will be taking place throughout the week supported by new research revealing people’s attitudes towards saving in Northern Ireland. The campaign will be supported by a fully integrated marketing programme to communicate the importance of saving to help individuals and families achieve their savings goals..
Commenting on Northern Ireland Savings Week Declan Moore, Operations Director Progressive Building Society said, “To help instil a savings culture in Northern Ireland, we are encouraging people to think about and prioritise saving. Throughout Savings Week we will be working with a local school, stakeholders and consumer organisations to encourage people of all ages to look at ways they can save small sums regularly and get into the savings habit.”
Activity will include a millennials workshop in conjunction with the Consumer Council to support young people to review their finances in the Progressive Derry/Londonderry branch on Wednesday 12th September at 5.30pm and school activity as part of Progressive’s partnership with Young Enterprise’s Learn to Earn programme.
