CORPORATE ACCOUNT MANAGER

AIKEN is a multi–award–winning consultancy with service areas covering corporate communications, public affairs, B2B, reputation management, planning, internal communications, sponsorship. marketing communications, and digital strategy and communications.  We have offices in Belfast and Dublin, with many of our clients operating across the island of Ireland.

We work with the senior leaders of the local and multinational organisations across a wide variety of industry sectors including – Retail, finance, energy, insurance, technology, professional services, tourism, manufacturing, FMCG, construction, international trade and investment, drinks industry, hospitality, sport, health and pharma.

The Role:

AIKEN is now seeking to hire an experienced and ambitious strategic communications account manager with previous experience of working in corporate communications.

Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain a strong understanding of the client’s products, services, market, and industry and build sustainable client relationships 

  • Ensure key stakeholder management and collaboration as you progress projects and activity 

  • Maintain and manage an always on approach to stakeholder monitoring, insights and intelligence

  • Demonstrate a passion and enthusiasm for client’s business and leverage your understanding to unlock new business opportunities 

  • Develop strategic communications plans and engagement strategies designed to support clients’ business objectives 

  • Ensure the quality output and delivery of client projects and activity on time and on budget

  • Ensure day to day client and internal communication and management 

  • Monitor and measure campaign performance on an ongoing basis through campaign KPIs and internal and external reporting 

  • Oversee, encourage, mentor junior team members and manage account team 

  • Be actively involved in company new business efforts and be proactive in exploring new business opportunities 

 

Key Criteria: 

  • A passion for strategic corporate communications and stakeholder engagement

  • Excellent writing, organisational, presentation and interpersonal skills 

  • An ability to work to tight deadlines across several different client mandates and industry sectors 

  • A strong understanding of the corporate landscape with excellent media contacts and relationships 

  • An excellent understanding of the political environment in either Belfast or Dublin

  • Experience of managing campaigns from concept through to delivery with an emphasis on results delivery and client satisfaction 

  • Ownership of managing projects against budget and delivering profitable work 

  • Strong work ethic with a team player attitude and excellent stakeholder management skills 

  • A relevant third level qualification

  • Experience: 4 years +

  • Understanding of the planning and economic development environment 

  • A self–starter, ability to think on your feet and make decisions 

  • A desire to embrace responsibility and take ownership of clients, projects and your career 

  • Excellent client–facing and presentation skills delivered with integrity 

  • Exceptional attention to detail coupled with personal pride in every output you deliver
