PARIS – March 26, 2019 – Irish technology, consumer and lifestyle media were joined by bloggers and online creatives at the launch of the HUAWEI P30 and HUAWEI P30 Pro in the French capital today. Irish attendees joined technology influencers and media from across the world as global technology leader Huawei unveiled the hotly–anticipated HUAWEI P30 Series – the company’s most advanced devices to date and the best smartphone camera on the market as awarded by DxOMark.

Those in attendance at the Paris Convention Centre today heard about the extraordinary photography and videography experiences delivered by the HUAWEI P30 and HUAWEI P30 Pro across a wide range of scenarios and lighting conditions. Producing professional–grade, life–like pictures every time Huawei’s latest flagship devices allow users to capture incredible photos and videos in every scenario.

With the innovative Huawei SuperSpectrum Sensor – an extreme optical Huawei SuperZoom lens – the HUAWEI P30 Series will change people’s expectations of what smartphone photography is capable of. The SuperZoom lens on the new devices supports high fidelity magnification up to 5 times optical zoom, 10 times hybrid zoom and 50 times digital zoom, and precise distance measurement allows for the simulation of multiple levels of bokeh, highlighting the subject in any scenario. Meanwhile, Super Portrait Mode captures even tiny details, down to the hair strands on a subject’s face.

The P30 Series, which amplifies Huawei’s long–standing photography partnership with Leica brings to the market a camera that meets the imagination of creatives in Ireland. The unrivalled photography experience of Huawei devices has helped foster creative talent and encourage increasing numbers of amateur photographers across Ireland.

Rewriting rules of photography, the launch of the new camera smartphones comes as HUAWEI Creatives Competition has been launched for its fourth year in Ireland. The highly acclaimed competition, which last year received over 15,000 entries, seeks out Ireland’s most creative amateur photographers and gives one lucky winner the opportunity to travel anywhere in the world*, putting the new P30 Pro through its paces on a trip of a lifetime.

With the competition closing date on April 29th fast approaching, the race is on for those inspired by the launch of the new device in Paris, or spurred by the opportunity to get hands on with the new device to submit their entry soon.

To enter this year’s HUAWEI Creatives competition and to be in with a chance of winning the prize of an all–expenses paid trip to anywhere in the world* upload your photograph entry to Instagram with the hashtag #HuaweiCreatives as well as a hashtag for the category you are entering, e.g. #Food. Runners–up for each category will also receive the HUAWEI P30 Pro.

The HUAWEI P30 Pro will be on sale in Ireland in Black & Breathing Crystal, while the P30 will range in Black, Breathing Crystal as well as Aurora (exclusive to Carphone Warehouse).

While pricing varies by operator, the HUAWEI P30 Prowill be available from€79.99 on Bill Pay and €999RRP sim free, and the P30 will be available from free on Bill Pay and €739RRP sim free. Stockists in Ireland are Vodafone, Three, eir, Carphone Warehouse, Virgin and Harvey Norman.
