Women in Business, the largest and fastest growing business network for female entrepreneurs and business leaders in Northern Ireland, has partnered with InterTradeIreland to launch a new all–island Voices of Leadership Virtual Conference on 5 November.

This virtual half–day event will take place from 09.30am– 12.30pm and aims to shine a light on global leaders and hear their perspectives on effective leadership. The conference will welcome a host of speakers that demonstrate leadership at the highest–level including Sharon Thorne, Global Board Chair of Deloitte; Alyse Nelson, President and CEO of Vital Voices Global Partnership; Norah Casey, award–winning businesswoman and broadcaster. The only two female CEO’s featured in the Top 100 business list in Northern Ireland Elaine Birchall, CEO, SHS Group and Sara Venning, CEO, NI Water, will also be presenting.

Roseann Kelly, CEO of Women in Business believes that the conference will have a wide appeal, “The effectiveness of female leaders in handling the COVID–19 crisis is widely recognised as being overwhelmingly positive, with evidence showing that outcomes are systematically better in countries led by women. Through our partnership with InterTradeIreland, we are excited about exploring the characteristics of a true leader, learning from inspiring female trailblazers while encouraging businesswomen across the country to continue to make a difference in the workplace.”

The event is being delivered in partnership with InterTradeIreland, a company with 20 years’ experience of helping SMEs on both sides of the border to succeed, by offering business funding, advice and support.

Margaret Hearty, Director of Business Services at InterTradeIreland said: “As a woman in the world of business I have a personal insight into both some of the particular obstacles we must overcome, as well as the opportunities, skillsets and perspectives we can bring. Events such as these are all about empowering entrepreneurial women to realise their potential, which dovetails in every respect with InterTradeIreland’s core mission to support innovative and progressive businesses across the island.”

This conferences sees the first all Island wide collaboration  of networks partnering together including key partner IntertradeIreland and supporters CBI; Network Ireland; FSB; Lean in Ireland: Women’s Inspire Network; Planet Woman; Evolve; Women in Enterprise and MAW Network. The conference, which is free to attend is set to appeal to delegates from across the gender divide who want to hear from inspirational leaders and understand why we need more diversity in leadership.
