Electric Ireland has launched the 2023 Electric Ireland Camogie All–Ireland Minor Championships, teaming up with Cork Camogie legend and 10–time All–Star, Gemma O’Connor, to support the announcement.

Since launching their new partnership with the Camogie Association earlier this year, it has been a busy few months within Camogie with the recent conclusion of a jam–packed Electric Ireland Camogie Third level Championships calendar.

This year, to celebrate its first year of sponsorship of the Electric Ireland Camogie All–Ireland Minor Championships, Electric Ireland will spotlight three players each week from the Championship action across their social channels, with the Player of the Week being revealed weekly on Electric Ireland’s Twitter page (@ElecIrelandNI). Electric Ireland also looks forward to celebrating the incredible achievements of these players later in year when they will celebrate the recipients of the Electric Ireland Camogie Minor Star Awards.

Electric Ireland’s Minor Moments podcast will also return for a second season, featuring a fantastic line–up of guests from the worlds of Camogie, Hurling and Football, as they reflect on the defining moments from their Minor playing days and how it shaped them, both on and off the pitch.

Stay tuned to Electric Ireland’s social channels as they unveil more exciting plans for this year’s Electric Ireland Camogie All–Ireland Minor Championships.

Uachtarán an Cumann Camógaíochta, Hilda Breslin, said: “It has been a pleasure to work with Electric Ireland over the last few months throughout the Electric Ireland Camogie Third Level Championships and we are excited to see what their support will add to this year’s Electric Ireland Camogie All–Ireland Minor Championships. Since 2012, we have seen Electric Ireland’s unwavering support for the development of young Minor players and we are delighted that our young Camogie players will also now benefit from this support.”

Sarah Sharkey, Brand, PR and Sponsorship Manager at Electric Ireland stated: “It is an extremely exciting time for Electric Ireland to be involved with Camogie, having recently witnessed the incredible talent on display throughout the Electric Ireland Camogie Third Level Championships. At Electric Ireland, we recognise and celebrate the enormous impact that playing Minor has on a young person’s life and we look forward to celebrating these defining moments for the players throughout the Electric Ireland Camogie All–Ireland Minor Championships.”

Speaking at the launch, former Cork Camogie minor, Gemma O’Connor commented: “I am absolutely delighted to be involved in launching this year’s Electric Ireland Camogie All–Ireland Minor Championships. I have no doubt of the impact that my Minor playing days had on my career and I know just how important this Championship is to the players. It is an exciting time for the sport, made more so by the added support of Electric Ireland’s sponsorship.”

Electric Ireland also looks forward to continuing its support of the Electric Ireland GAA Minor Championships this year, having sponsored the Championships since 2012 and last year extending this support until 2027.
