by Aiken PR

At £23 million, Alex raised the largest venture capital funding ever for a solely women–owned business

Alex Depledge MBE, one of the UK’s leading female entrepreneurs, is among a stellar line–up of speakers announced for the All–Ireland Entrepreneurs Conference curated by Women in Business.

Taking place on 16th June at the Slieve Donard Hotel in Newcastle, Co. Down, the conference will focus on the theme, ‘Dare to Compete’, following on from the recent Voices of Leadership Conference where keynote speaker Secretary Hillary Clinton recounted when she was ‘dared to compete’ for the role of President of the United States.

The only all–island conference on the entrepreneurial scene will feature Alex as keynote speaker reflecting on an entrepreneurial journey where she raised the largest capital funding ever for a solely female owner business, co–founding and later selling for a record £27 million. Alex has since gone on to start another company, Resi, with Irish business partner Jules Coleman.

The conference will give female entrepreneurs from all over Ireland the opportunity to

·        Grow your connections throughout the conference.

·        Participate in focus sessions filled with insights and practical learnings from industry experts

·        Enter a pitching competition where two entrepreneurs, one based in NI and one based in ROI, will be in with the chance to win a £2k prize fund for their business

The event will be hosted by CEO of and Co–Founder of Dara&Co Naomh McElhatton, and will feature a series of sessions filled with insights and practical learnings. Other speakers confirmed include Norah Casey, Founder of Planet Woman and former RTE Dragon, Aisling Bremner, top NI Marketing Consultant, Francesca Morelli, Co–Founder of VAVA Influence and Melanie Breslin, CEO of The Elite Mindset Academy, with many more to be announced soon.

Alex Depledge commented on the upcoming conference: “I’m excited to be invited to speak at such an inspirational event with so many incredible women in attendance. I’m also really excited to hear from the wealth of other speakers and to hopefully create an atmosphere in the room which will stimulate and encourage the audience of successful businesswomen to go on and push themselves and their companies even further.”

Commenting on the return of the conference, CEO of The WIB Group Roseann Kelly said: “This conference truly is unmissable for women across the island who have been brave enough to set up their own business. I am delighted that the conference is back for its 7th year, and that we have such an incredible line up of female entrepreneurs in the room. The momentum behind female entrepreneurs in Ireland is only continuing to build following the success of our recent Voices of Leadership Conference.

“We at Women in Business dare female entrepreneurs from all over Ireland to grow and expand their businesses, to challenge themselves and connect with others amongst an audience of over 350 leading business founders, innovators and influencers.”
