The McCormick family,
one of 3,000 dairy farming families in Northern Ireland, are celebrating World Milk Day as Northern Ireland’s high quality, nutritious milk is in demand at home and abroad.
With this year’s theme of sustainability, the sector continues to reduce its environmental footprint while still providing healthy, nutritious foods and livelihoods across the countryside. The McCormick family, who farm outside of Bangor, County Down, epitomise sustainable dairy farming in Northern Ireland.
Mike Johnston, Chief Executive at the Dairy Council NI, commented: “Dairy farming in Northern Ireland continues to make significant progress on our journey to a more sustainable future. Our dairy farming families are the custodians of our countryside and the McCormick family is a fine example of sustainable farming that ensures the production of high–quality milk and provides the best possible product for consumers at home and across the world.”
