The Livestock and Meat Commission was proud to sponsor the lamb classes at the seventh annual Royal Ulster Premier Beef and Lamb Championships reinforcing its commitment to showcasing the quality and excellence of Northern Ireland’s lamb industry.

Held on Tuesday 25th November at the Eikon Exhibition Centre, the competition featured 17 highly competitive classes, with a total of 74 pairs entered by skilled local exhibitors, showcasing the best of Northern Ireland’s lambs and the dedication of the farmers who rear them. For the first time, LMC also had a stand at the event which provided an opportunity for the team to engage with local beef and sheep farmers.

Judge Christian Wilson carefully evaluated each animal for breed quality, structure, and overall standard before LMC Chairman Joe Stewart presented rosettes to the champion and reserve pairs in every class.

Speaking at the event, Colin Smith said "We were delighted to sponsor the lamb classes at the Beef and Lamb Championships once again this year. Our thanks go to the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society for coordinating the event, Judge Christian Wilson for lending his expertise, and most importantly, to all the exhibitors. Events like this are only possible because of their continued passion and commitment to Northern Ireland’s livestock sector."

The Royal Ulster Premier Beef and Lamb Championships continue to celebrate the region’s agricultural excellence, promoting sustainable farming and highlighting the talent and dedication of Northern Ireland’s farming community.
