Entries are now open for the 2026 Women in Business Awards which returns in March with a new ‘Growth & Scaling Business of the Year’ category.

Aimed at acknowledging the achievements of businesswomen in scaling operations and entering new markets across NI and beyond, the Growth & Scaling award is one of 11 categories at the 2026 Awards which will recognise the exceptional talent and leadership of women at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on 12th March, 2026.

Sponsored by Virgin Media O2 Business and entering its 14th year, the Women in Business Awards continue to be a cornerstone event for recognising excellence, resilience, and achievement among women professionals, entrepreneurs, and business leaders.

Women in Business Managing Director, Lorraine Acheson, commented, “Each year, the Awards spotlight the incredible contributions women make to the economy and to their communities. In 2026, we are thrilled to expand our categories and place a stronger focus on high-growth organisations and emerging entrepreneurial talent. These new awards recognise the boldness, creativity, and vision of women who are not only building successful businesses today but shaping the business landscape of tomorrow and the next generation of female changemakers.”

Among the event’s most prestigious accolades is Young Businesswoman of the Year which has now been expanded to two award categories – employee and entrepreneur – in recognition of the increasing number of young women starting businesses across Northern Ireland.

“I would encourage members, partners, and the wider business community to submit nominations and celebrate the women who continue to inspire, innovate, and lead with impact before the deadline of 12 noon on 19th January 2026,” Lorraine added.

On the night, the ceremony will recognise businesswomen from a diverse range of disciplines with Caroline O’Neill and the Digg Podcast team returning as podcast partner to interview winners on the night. Hosted by long-time Women in Business advocate Pamela Ballantine, the past 13 events have seen winners from a wide range of sectors including energy, media, tourism, technology and the public sector.

Jo Bertram, Managing Director, Virgin Media O2 Business: “We are incredibly proud to sponsor the Women in Business Awards, an event that shines a spotlight on the remarkable accomplishments of women across the business landscape. Celebrating the achievements of women in business is not only vital for recognising their outstanding contributions, but also for inspiring the next generation of leaders. By championing these successes, we help pave the way for greater diversity, innovation, and progress.”

All finalists will join the Women in Business Award Finalist Alumnae of over 300 women which offers the opportunity to network and engage with like-minded businesswomen, enhancing both personal and professional development.
